In January last year, Bernie Randall, who is on the Paraparaumu-Raumati Community Board, said: “Playgrounds for children in Kapiti could be more innovative. The Council would do well to see what Hutt City is up to. Child expert Deborah Morris -Travers [then of] the Paraparaumu Community Board should be consulted. At the moment the selection of devices for a child’s playground appears arbitrary and without any consultation from Community Boards or community.”
