We referred the refusal of this government agency to fully answer our OIA request from last November to the Ombudsman — and as a result we now have a full response. (The Ombudsman, Leo Donnelly, is another guy Geoffrey went to school with — these connections come in handy!)

We remain very concerned, of course, about the small number of investigations conducted — only about 100 out of 28,000 entities that have registered as “charities”.  There are certainly many more than this ripping off taxpayers and duping donors.  It is an issue that needs to be taken up during this year’s general election.
