Kapiti Island webcam 2

Thanks to Groundtruth Ltd, with input from Karl Webber and Ben Joshua Knight, this provides you with views throughout the day of the scene from the Kapiti Island Coast.

Karl Webber says, “There’s 70 frames available throughout a day up to 15 minutes ago… this was a very cool project, a collaboration of the Guardians of the Kapiti Marine Reserve, DOC, Groundtruth and the US Embassy, who funded most of the project.
Ben Joshua Knight Jack Hampton D’man Dan Colin Giddy (DOC) put most of this together
Sue and Chris from Waikanae provide the wifi link
local Iwi and Island landowners supported this project.
Kapiti Heliworx flew in much of the gear.
Myself, Jack, Taylor and Dan spent a couple of days setting up and installing the gear.
There’s been a bunch of others supporting this in one way or another as well, so all in all this has been a really good collaborative project and something that should be fantastic for the whole community for a variety of purposes. This is the first cam of a few envisaged. 🙂

The first day includes some impressive pictures!
