That statement is about half way down the first page of the OIA request reply received yesterday.

About a month ago we saw a movie in the Coastlands cinemas before which one of the commercials was a cartoon produced by the KCDC telling motorists to slow down and watch for pedestrians at pedestrian crossings.

There’s nothing remarkable about that; except we’ve never seen such a commercial anywhere else and it raises the question — is there a particular problem in Kapiti?

Clearly from both the NZTA and KCDC responses there isn’t (except maybe the crossing outside the council headquarters in Rimu Road), so why the money spent on these cartoons?
