So how are you going to save our birdlife and the bush from pests like rats and possums? 1080 as a method of pest control for rugged and remote areas has been around for many years and many iwi support it, realising that it is necessary.

1080 isnt saving the birds. 1080 has been used for 64 years and its not working . most countries have banned it as it is so toxic to everything .its poison. it poisons the birds, the animals, the land and the water. the manufacturers instructions say to keep it out the water and to remove dead carcuses but this isn’t done. there are very few areas in nz that cant be trapped or hunted especially if the 83 million of taxpayer money was spent on alternative programs instead of 1080. cruel poison is not necessary. – and yes it is cruel – hideously cruel (the spca want it banned as it is so inhumane)

Show us a remote area in NZ that cant be walked, there are very few, and rats dont go all over NZ, they are thin skinned with little fur cover so rats are not a major problem, and possums dont eat birds or eggs, that was done by a DOC spin doctor.
