Having mentioned Waikanae’s rainfall, we thought we should mention that of Downtown Wellington.  In 2019 it dropped to 1175 mm from 1304 mm in 2018.  That clearly demonstrates there can be significant variations in only 60 km or so and that, as Waikanae people believe, there are micro-climates in different areas.
