In last year’s local government elections we endorsed Neil MacKay for the Kapiti seat on the Greater Wellington Regional Council, but unfortunately he was unsuccessful.
He is now standing for one of the two vacant seats on the Electra Trust which is the wholesaler of electricity for the Kapiti and Horowhenua areas. Readers in Kapiti should have their voting papers for this postal ballot.
Neil tells us:
“New technology is driving considerable changes in the electricity sector. It is important to have knowledge and understanding of the sector and the new technologies around the Electra Trust table, to adequately monitor and safeguard the interests of Electra’s owners.
“My Electra Board experience and new technology nous will add considerable experience to achieve this.
“A strong Electra Trust with the right balance of skills and experience will ensure that Electra will continue to deliver a strong performance.”
