Ohariu MP Greg O’Connor is an ex-policemen and long-time President of the New Zealand Police Association, best known in that role for his strong support of armed police. (In 2019-20 New Zealand trialled armed police patrols, and for a while it looked as though armed police visiting private homes for minor offences, or where no offence has been committed, was going to be the norm in New Zealand, see Is New Zealand on the Road to Bolshevism?) O’Connor supported the gun reforms which were fast tracked in the aftermath of the Christchurch shooting, and spoke in favour of the government’s draconian Covid-19 Response Bill. First elected in 2017, O’Connor would be a front-runner for the post of Minister of Police in a future Labour government.

2ZB seems to be the last bastion of the spoken word, long may it last.
The music stations are relativley risk free as well, Sound, Breeze, Classic.
Meanwhile a search of ABC News on U Tube will bring up live ozzy news starting at 8am our time.
news.com.au is a good read as it the ABC written news on https://www.abc.net.au/news/
Bit sad about the Kiwi stuff especially as we pay for it but that’s so called progress. I heard that people want the whole of New Zealands place names changed to maori ones by 2026, progress indeed.

There aren’t too many unbiased MSM News options any more, often to get balance you need to watch/listen to ones that are diametrically opposite — like the ABC you mention and Sky News.
Changing all place names to Maori ones won’t affect us much in Kapiti at least
