Yesterday saw one of the regular fishing competitions organised by the Waikanae Boating Club in the mild and sunny weather.

The rules for competitors:
- All boats to be skipped by a financial Waikanae Boating Club member.
- All persons on boats entering or departing the water must be wearing life jackets.
- Radio Tower use VHF ch77 or cell phone on departure and return.
- All Boats must log in, and failure to do so could result in disqualification.
- People attempting to weigh in undersized fish will be disqualified.
- All boats to enter the water from Waikanae Boating Club launching ramp.
- Organising Committee decision is final.
