Section 35b of the Jacinda government’s new covid legislation rammed through parliament in the last two days says that businesses can’t disclose the vaccination status of staff, even if staff agree.

ACT pointed this out, but the Minister, Chris Hipkins, declined to allow their amendment to allow it. Oh dear.

ACT voted against the whole Bill.

Newshub’s Tova picked up on the now inability of businesses to show signs (like the one above produced by Bloomfield’s MoH) declaring that they and their staff support Jacinda’s Jabs. Maybe Tova was looking forward to walking along streets swooning with pride at seeing shops’ declarations that they adore her idol as much as she does? However, there’s nothing to stop shops putting pictures of Jacinda in their windows instead, which would serve the same purpose.
