Basically it’s done nothing to protect the marine environment of the estuary which DoC has now finally confessed (through an OIA) only ranks 1,336 out of its 1,375 conservation assets around the country.
It’s a scandal – compounded by DoC’s latest claim in December that the estuary is “one of the most important estuarine environments in the lower North Island.
Would that it were so!
