Last week the iconic stone wall on the west side of Main Road, the previous State Highway One, which locals wanted kept got demolished in pursuance of the NZTA/KCDC plans for the Main Road announced in 2018. The wall was built by Leon Kiel as a decorative safety feature after a car from Elizabeth Street crashed into a shop. The WCB obtained in 2020 a concession and commitment from the KCDC to rebuild the wall elsewhere in the town, possibly the Pharazyn Reserve.
For a picture of how it looked up until last week, see here.

Trudeau and Ardern are behaving like the communist leaders of Eastern Europe in 1989/90. As far as they are concerned the uprising of the people against their Marxist regimes are to be ignored or they use the state’s apparatus against them.
Eventually these leaders will have to be tried for their crimes against humanity with their coercion and mandates of a medical experiment which has resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands of adverse events. Also those bureaucrats, doctors and academics who have been complicit in such crimes.

Oh well we will wait for the crashes again as cars coming down Elizabeth street “see” lights in the shop windows and drive straight ahead (into them).
Roll on a new council and get this gateway rubbish stopped.
Roll on a new council that stops continually giving ratepayers money away.
Roll on a new council that only has elected members on its payroll.
Roll on a new council that cuts the staffing by 10%.
Roll on a new council that limits rates increases to no more than inflation.
And more, may we stat a list?
