The Social Credit Party has congratulated ACT Leader David Seymour on his call this morning for an end to vaccine mandates.
His assertion that new evidence that the vaccine is not making a difference in the spread of the virus is spot on.
That evidence has been plain to see for any who cared to look for it since a study reported in the Lancet at the end of October and it has been piling up since.
Mandates have separated friends, split families, and thrown thousands out of work – for no reason.
They’ve seen doctors barred from providing care for patients and vital medical staff thrown out of work at a time when they have never been more needed.
They have been an enormous waste of police resources, and imposed a substantial burden of compliance and disruption on businesses, all without justification.
England, Denmark, and Ireland who have scrapped all restrictions, and New South Wales, Tasmania, and some states in the USA who are rapidly unwinding them, having realised that vaccination status has no bearing on Covid-19 transmission or infection.
While large numbers of people have supported the mandates, they’ve done so because government and the media have convinced them they’re an important part of the Covid-19 response.
It’s time the government told New Zealanders the truth.
Mandates don’t work and the unvaccinated are not villains.
We congratulate David Seymour on having the courage to admit that the evidence needs him to change his previous stance.
It’s time they were scrapped and the protests ended.

At least he has the mana to admit he was wrong which is something the Leader of Jacindaland never does, she always digs her heels in and doubles down. But unless she does, the country is in for a rough ride ahead. Fasten your seat belt.
For horse face to sit down and reach an agreement with the protesters would mean that she would have to sit down and reach a compromise with people that she has labelled as “violent, racist, misogynistic, terrorists”. Even her paid for press would rip her to shreds for having done so and her own arrogance won’t let her backtrack and apologise for having said that, no matter how kind she likes to think she is.
Seymour finally see’s common sense.
No, he sees opportunity to seize power.
While it is good that he is finally changing his position – the damage is done. The time for him to speak out in genuine opposition to the government was a long time ago.
Agreed, he’s only changed his chance because he has realised more than 2/3 rds of the popuation support the end of mandates. It highlights just how far out of touch these poiliticians really are.

Seymour is a complete Jackass. He has a degree in Electrical engineering? and cant understand that wind turbines are completely useless even with the wind blowing. I just couldn’t trust the guy. He is just an Act.

I welcome David Seymour’s awakening but the vast damage Ardern has caused is going to take a strong and determined opposition to unravel and repair. Is David Seymour and the ACT Party up to the task? Time will tell I guess.
There is a famous old saying “Beware of Greeks bearing gifts,” today it should be “Beware of politicians changing their minds,” especially when there is (but not if Jasinister stays in power) an election in the offing. Look at Matt King, jumped on the anti SNA bandwagon, but never said a word while in government, change of view on jabs, became spokesman for the lawsuit by the cops and military, jumped on a plane (and got interviewed before taking off) to Wellington. Then we have Winston Peters and, of course, David Seymour being complimented by Chris Leach who has suddenly emerged from wherever.
