No, B here doesn’t stand for second rate, ‘bugger’ or ‘bastard’, although there are plenty who think it should. Roger still subscribes to their Wellington rag because someone needs to hold them accountable, Geoffrey and Eva haven’t done so for some years, only visiting a post when it is particularly noteworthy. If there were ‘W’ Corp or ‘G’ Corp categories for ‘Wokeist’ and ‘Globalist’ respectively, Stuff would easily qualify.

Hi Roger,

We’re getting in touch with some exciting news today. Over the past year Stuff has done the hard mahi to become a Certified B Corporation.

B Corps are companies verified by B Lab to achieve high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The B stands for benefit.

B Corps form a movement transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. That’s something we can really get on board with!

Being a B Corp aligns with Stuff’s strategy of making Aotearoa a better place. We want all that we do, all that we think about and all we produce to be having a tangible, positive impact on Aotearoa and the lives of everyone who lives here.

We see the certification as a crucial tool to help guide us on this journey, to help us hold ourselves accountable for our actions, and to continue building trust with consumers, communities, and suppliers.

Stuff’s B Impact Score

The B Impact Assessment (BIA) is the tool used by B Lab to assess a company’s social and environmental performance. Performance is assessed across five impact areas: governance, workers, community, customers and environment.

Stuff’s B Impact score is 83.4 and a report of our company’s breakdown of points is available on the B Corp website.

This is just the start of our B Corp journey. In three years we will need to re-certify, and when that time comes we want to be in an even better position than where we are today. There is so much scope for us to improve and make an even bigger impact.

Thanks for your support.
