This relates to the absurd statements from the Prime Minister’s Department’s Disinformation Division report referred to in the Guy Hatchard article.
It’s effectively an admission that people are increasingly getting tired and distrustful of what Jacinda, her ministers and her department churn out and dutifully reported in the bought and paid for Mainstream Media which includes the Herald.
As the old adage says, you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

Boo Hoo NZ Ferald!! the full “adage” is, in case you aren’t aware “You can fool SOME of the people ALL of the time, you can fool ALL of the PEOPLE SOME of the time but (as you said) you can’t fool ALL of the PEOPLE ALL of the TIME. and the last one is what Jasinister and the Presstitute fake news media are trying to do, but failing.

Abe was no doubt correct at the time, but in theses days of modern communication, I fear that ‘you can fool most of the people most of the time’, and that’s all you need to do. Take the climate change ‘crisis’ where the media refuse to even accept any challenge to the blatant lies being told. Maybe people didn’t know about ‘kings new clothes’ in Abe’s day, but they still knew how to smell a rat.

At the very least, we need to reopen the concept of public debate instead of blocking anything that doesn’t suit the narrative of the publisher.

The Disinformation Division report you refer to mentions that in mid-March a leading misinformation producer released a video featuring the false claim of bio-weapons factories in Ukraine constructed and funded by the United States.
On March 9, Waikanae Watch shared a blog that the US Defence Threat Reduction Agency had been involved with biolabs suitable for working with pathogens, including those used in bioweapons. Again this week, WW shared a briefing: Analysis of documents related to U.S. military biological activities on Ukraine territory.
How does WW ensure that posts it shares do not originate from Russian propaganda channels as described in the Disinformation Division report?

Sue – and how does the Govt ensure they everything they put out is the truth and not disinformation? If we have a disinformation division they should be starting with the amount of spin coming out of the beehive, or is it just for people that the govt doesnt agree with, or question the left wing spin?

This sounds like a question from an employee of the U.S. State Department and it’s no surprise it would feed claims to the NZ PM’s Department and probably vice-versa. We assume “a leading misinformation producer” is a reference to Fox News which is the only significant MSM channel that takes a critical approach to the Biden administration’s polices and practices. The Tucker Carlson video of 11 March concluded that the claims are true, not false. In general we are more skeptical of the State Department and the CIA than we are of Russian media — see Senator Rand Paul’s comments, and those of his father.
