The Arbol del Tule is absolutely massive. It’s located in the church grounds in the center of Santa María del Tule in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, approximately 9 km east of the city of Oaxaca on the road to Mitla. Once thought to be a merge of multiple trees, it is now believed to be a single Montezuma Cypress. Estimated to be around 2,000 years old with a 177-foot (54-metre) circumference, the gnarled Tule Tree is one of the world’s widest trees.
