message from the council

Between [now] and 31 August, six big concrete pours for the new footpath area around the revamped Mahara Gallery will affect carparking in the area. Due to the amount of concrete required, up to four concrete trucks will attend each pour and we’ll need to close half the Countdown carpark between 7am and 11am (or earlier). The closures are necessary to give the trucks space to manoeuvre with a safety buffer zone around them.

We can’t be certain about exact dates because we need the right weather conditions to pour concrete; they can’t take place during heavy rain.

Accessible carparks will be relocated to the northern side of the carpark during the closures. Traffic controllers will be on site to help drivers and pedestrians navigate the changed conditions.
