Even more advanced than that of the U.S.
from Jayant Bhandari at lewrockwell.com:
Canada’s population grew by more than one million in 2022. This increase was equivalent to 2.7%. Such a rate would double Canada’s population in 26 years.
When I moved to Canada in 2003, its population was 32 million. Today, it is 40 million, an increase of 25%.
Had immigration not occurred, the Canadian population would have fallen, given its fertility rate of 1.47, which itself would have been lower had immigration not occurred. But let us not get into the nitty-gritty when there is an 800-pound gorilla in the room.
For those who don’t have a sense of numbers, more than one out of every four people in Canada arrived after my arrival twenty years back. As it stands today, 26% of Canadians are first-generation immigrants. 18% are second-generation. 32% of children under fifteen in 2021 were second-generation immigrants.
My interest is not to get into statistical nuances but to show that nearly 50% of Canadians are first or second-generation immigrants. And immigration continues to ramp up, most of whom come from the Third World.
Read this on Zerohedge and whilst I agree with some of the points raised I think it leans a bit hard on Indians. Where I work there has definitely been an increase in Indians employed and like any group it takes all kinds to make a world. All Western countries have gone overboard accepting immigrants apart from Poland and Hungary.
I have made two wonderful Indian friends at work, but there are non-Indians who carp behind their backs and have dealt some real school yard crap to them. These friends have risen above it and continue to ascend the ranks through hard work, which must really rankle the people who have been acting in a disgusting way behind the scenes.
I have had some good conversations with my Indian friends and they love being in NZ as it is far less dog eat dog and they love the more relaxed pace of life. If they bring a parent over to NZ for a holiday they have the proof that funds/arrangements have been made to take care of any unexpected medical or other events for said parent/s.
There is no problem with Indians coming to NZ provided immigration is managed properly and newcomers understand the Western outlook regarding laws and accepted cultural norms such as the status of women.
A moratorium, or at least a severe reduction, needs to be put in place for three to five years in my opinion.
