In this case air pollution. This is Milan Rai, an artist in Kathmandu, Nepal with a gas mask.  This city ranked at number 100 on a list published last month of 100 of the world’s most polluted cities.  The full list is on this CNN webpage.

The worst was Gurugram (it sounds like a good name for our current mayor’s Kapiti News weekly column  🙂 ) in India.

The same webpage has a ranking of air pollution in 100 countries — at the top is Bangladesh and at the bottom is Iceland.  NZ ranks 94th, just below Canada and the USA.
