❖ In what appears to be yet another escalation in Silicon Valley’s redoubled efforts to quash dissident voices since the beginning of the Ukraine war, PayPal has just blocked the accounts of multiple alternative media voices who’ve been speaking critically against official US empire narratives. These include journalist and speaker Caleb Maupin and Mnar Adley and Alan MacLeod of MintPress News.
Just the other day MintPress published an excellent article by MacLeod titled “An Intellectual No-Fly Zone: Online Censorship of Ukraine Dissent Is Becoming the New Norm” documenting the many ways skepticism of the US government’s version of events in this war is being suppressed by Silicon Valley mega-corporations, including financial censorship via the demonetization of YouTube videos that don’t regurgitate the imperial line on Ukraine.
Today, both MintPress and MacLeod have been banned from using the payment service that many online content creators have come to rely on to help crowdfund their work.
MintPress News happens to have published critical journalism about PayPal itself in the past, like the articles it published in 2018 by Whitney Webb documenting the way shady PayPal-linked billionaires Peter Thiel and Pierre Omidyar have advanced the interests of the US empire and facilitated imperial narrative control, or this one from 2016 on how the company blocks Palestinians from opening accounts while showing no such bias against illegal Israeli settlers.
I asked MintPress News Executive Director Mnar Adley for comment on PayPal’s move. Here is her response in full:“Paypal banning myself and MintPress is blatant censorship of dissenting journalists & outlets. For the past decade MintPress has been unapologetically working as a watchdog journalism outlet to expose the profiteers of the permanent war state from the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Sudan to Apartheid Israel’s occupation of Palestine and Saudi Arabia’s genocidal war in Yemen to regime change operations in Syria, Ukraine and Venezuela where US weapons have flooded these nations to plunge them into devastating civil wars.
“In the era of a declining US empire, censorship has become the last resort of an unpopular regime and its forever wars to make the truth disappear and critical thinking all but dead. With the war in Ukraine raging on, we’ve entered war time and Big Tech giants, including Paypal, are working hand in hand with the New Cold War architects themselves to sanction dissenting journalists. If you read the board of any of these tech giants from Google, Twitter, Facebook and Paypal, they read like a rogues’ gallery of war mongers and their agenda is clear: To control the free flow of information and target the bank accounts of anyone who dares question the official narrative of the Pentagon or State Department. “It is outrageous to be told that tech giants, which are run by those who directly profit from the New Cold war including the crisis in Ukraine, could limit any journalist’s ability to fund their work. Can you imagine if this was the norm in Russia, China or Iran? Our media would be screaming about free speech and first amendment rights. Yet, when we do it’s ok because it’s under the guise of fighting ‘Russian propaganda’.
“We’re living in an intellectual No-Fly Zone where online censorship of dissenting journalism has become the new norm. The U.S. sanctions regime that is trying to starve Russia, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Cuba and Iran and over 25% of the world’s population is now targeting its own citizens with its maximum pressure campaign so we are forced to toe the official government line in order to survive as a journalist in alternative media today.
“No matter the war waged against us, we refuse to be backed into a corner and bullied by tech giants who have a deep relationship with weapons manufacturers like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin and who work hand in hand with NATO that profit off the blood of millions of people around the world. The only way forward is for people to unite on a broader front of non-partisanship and fund our own media because there are more of us than there are of them.”
PayPal has also banned Caleb Maupin, an American speaker and journalist whose work has already seen his personal Twitter account branded “Russia state-affiliated media” by the US state-affiliated platform. [see above —Eds]
“Why should something as basic as cash transactions be subject to political censorship?” said Maupin when asked for comment. “The economic war on independent countries is turning into a war on free speech. Writers and journalists must be able to eat.
“Indeed, a very effective way to silence unauthorized media voices is to make it difficult for them to earn a living making their voices heard. Speaking from experience I know for a fact I couldn’t put out a fraction of the content I put out if I was forced to work a 9-5 job in some office rather than having the freedom to put all my time and mental energy into this work thanks to the generous support of my readers. Cutting me off from that funding would be the same as censoring me directly, because there’s no way I could continue the kind of work I do.
We are at a profoundly dangerous and frightening point in human history. The U.S. proxy war against Russia in Ukraine is escalating by the day and the drums of war are beating ever louder against China over the Solomon Islands and Taiwan. You think censorship is bad now, wait until this global power grab really gets going.

inThanks to seemorerocks.is for this important info. Here is why NZ’s food shortages. It’s not ‘the war’. The grower in the interview tells us that this has been brewing for 5 years! Your ‘kind’ govt requires from them a resource consent to grow, a consent to water and a consent to wash the veg. And […]

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Responding to the Government’s revised Three Waters plan announced today, New Zealand Taxpayers’ Union spokesman Jordan Williams says:
“The Government is desperately holding up an imagined threat of privatisation to justify its asset grab. Ironically, the Government’s Three Waters plan itself is a form of privatisation for the way it allows iwi groups to profit from publicly-funded water assets, but prevents payments to councils.”
“The move to give Councils shares in the new water entities is an obvious attempt to ward off accusations that Three Waters is an asset grab. But it’s a deceit: regardless of their shareholdings, councils (and therefore ratepayers) will still be stripped of all the crucial rights of control that are usually associated with ownership. Councils won’t be allowed to receive a return from the water entities, yet that is specifically allowed for mana whenua groups. Ratepayers will no longer ‘own’ the assets in any meaningful sense.”
“On balance, the recommendations now adopted by the Government make Three Waters even worse. A new bureaucracy – a Water Services Ombudsman – is established with a ‘tikanga-based dispute resolution process’. There will be a separate consultation process for mana whenua. Perhaps the most insulting part of the revised plan is yet another public communications campaign to explain the ‘need for change’ to New Zealanders.”
“Grant Robertson’s claim that this co-governance model is supported by most councils is laughable. Every day the Taxpayers’ Union is being contacted by democratically elected officials alarmed at the undermining of democracy.”
“The Government has also tried to confuse the media and the public by ‘ruling out’ co-governance for the entity boards – which was never on the table. This is cynical political spin doctoring at its very worst. Kiwis will see straight through it.”
“The Government was never really serious about revamping this deeply unpopular policy. They stacked the Working Group with pro-Three Waters Mayors, made the group itself co-governed, and barred it from reviewing the governance arrangements that make the scheme so bureaucratic and unaccountable.”
The Union’s petition to stop Three Waters has been signed by 89,000 New Zealanders. Its TV advertising will be relaunching over the next few days – funded by thousands of Kiwis who have chipped in via www.taxpayers.org.nz/donate_three_waters

inA reader has sent us this link
It examines shenanigans and skullduggery by the Globalist clique who freak out at the idea of not having their puppet politicians in power (examples: Biden rather than Trump, Macron rather than Le Pen and they’ve made plain they want Putin gone, Biden said so himself) — and the measures they take to achieve that.
Examples from the page:
Elon Musk now has everyone’s DM’s. You think Twitter quickly deleted everything, including all their tape backups just before it was finalized? I think not. Nope, that would look super suspect. As-Is, no warranties. Meaning: we have them all from Antifa-to-Clinton-to-Soros.(nitter.net)
The bots that pumped up the leftists tweets are being removed!
Video shows mass pre-spoiled ballots all for La Pen, ripped before even sent out, probably by the millions. The ballots for Marine Le Pen are deliberately spoiled. The video shows how the ballots for Marine Le Pen are already in specially sealed voting bags, which are already torn, which automatically recognizes them as unsuitable for counting.

The trouble with Elections is invariably they encourage utterances from some who want to be political leaders, to say pretty dumb things.
Boris Johnson and President Biden are classics: there’re too many examples to bother reciting here but both, in my view, seek to deflect poor polling at home by promoting chaos in another country.
In the case of America, this model has also long been adopted to ensure jobs back home within the Military-Industrial Complex.
Starting wars not only helps the U.S. economy, it can also be a way to avoid the political guillotine.
Australian Defence Minister Dutton’s recent, “Prepare for war with China and Russia”, also fits into this category – in my assessment. After all, it’s looking to be a close election in Oz.
Perhaps if Aussie had paid more attention to Solomon Islands? Too late now.
Like them or loath them, China is too big to ignore as a critical component in the Globalization (invented by America) of economic production and also as a consumer of raw materials from abroad.
New Zealand depends on China for dairy and timber exports. There is no alternative for either export. New Zealand depends on Chinese students and tourists. Period.
I’m no fan of New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, but I must congratulate her on her recent sane statement apropos China, that New Zealand seeks to find a middle or neutral ground balancing our trade dependence while opposing perceived wrongs of the Chinese government.
Two years ago, Fortescue’s Mining Magnate Andrew Forrest made a valiant effort to save the Aussie coal industry trade with China – earning rebuke from politicians who, assured of their monthly salary irrespective of the success of trade relations, cashed in on paranoia and the xenophobia.
When it comes to economic survival, in most parliaments there is a massive difference between commercial acuity of an industrialist or commercial magnate or even a farmer sweating out days in the fields of production, and a politician,
In the current Labour government, for example, the number of MPs who have NOT been senior management level in an enterprise dependent on productivity and sales, or who have practical experience of economic survival (even running their own café), by my calculations, is terrifying.
Many police and school teachers and NGO employees are in this same category. Government bureaucrats get paid, rain or sunshine. What’s worse, bureaucrats soon learn that the best way to preserve their jobs is not to make a mistake – and the best way not to make an error, is do nothing.
[Believe me. Afterall, I was once a police officer and later a Member of Parliament.]
Like it or not, China is well on its way to replacing the Dying Empire of America — who will join Britain and France and Germany and Italy and Spain and Portugal — in the embers of Empire builders who’ve had their day.
As for Mr Dutton’s war on Russia rant, at a time when politicians on one side of the Russian–Ukraine affair herald the strength of the European economy and the will of the politicians to defeat an undefeatable adversary, the side of the story Western media don’t run is the chronic plight of Europe’s dependence on Russian oil/gas and massive damage sanctions are doing in their own countries.
German industrialists are not happy with sanctions. Nor are the farmers in France. Argentina has said sanctions won’t stop the war and India and China put their people and their economies, ahead of America’s quest for world hegemony via sanctions
For those who get their daily data from other than BBC and American-influenced NZ mainstream, a case can be made that President Putin clearly had been gearing up for this Ukraine affair for some years — probably since Ukraine failed to honor the Minsk accord ceasefire after Russia re-took Crimea, by perpetually shelling civilians in the Donbas region.
In-spite of the best efforts of Western media to portray Russia on the brink of collapse, sanctions over time have compelled Russia to become self-sufficient – totally. From hypersonic gliders to more grain than their bread ovens can bake.
As always in politics: Be careful what you wish for.
The reality for Europe is, the imminence of economic chaos far exceeds problems in Russia — which enjoys trade and no sanctions with the two most populace countries on the planet: India and China.
The big question for Australia remains: Is the former policeman Peter Dutton concerned about his government’s polling and playing to the China xenophobia and anti-Russian sentiment or does he seriously believe that Australia has a hope in Hades of taking on China and Russia in a military clash?
PS By the way: The turban imposed on the head of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, during his recent visit to India to facilitate trade and urge distance with Russia, was the traditional head gear worn by “Traders” – who are one level above “Untouchables”. Perhaps a hidden message?

inIt’s another sign that the absolute horror of the last two years might be finally coming to an end. But what will the Globalist Cabal come up with to replace it?
The White House Chief Medical Adviser made the remarks during an appearance on PBS Newshour.
“Here we are. It’s the end of April. It’s the spring of 2022. How close are we to the end of the pandemic?” Fauci was asked by host Judy Woodruff.
“We are certainly, right now, in this country out of the pandemic phase,” Fauci replied. “Namely, we don’t have 900,000 new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalisations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now.”
“So, if you’re saying, are we out of the pandemic phase in this country, we are,” he added.
