On 1 July NZers woke up to the latest reshape of the Health system, the brand new centralised bureaucracy Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand and, yes, a separate Maori health authority, Te Aka Whai Ora, as well that has veto power.
Will it achieve better heath outcomes than the DHB system it superseded? Ha. Will it enrich favored elites? No doubt.
Does anybody still believe that the current health reforms have anything to do with health?
