” We saw Council at the Audit and Risk Committee (A&R) of 28 April, sink to yet another new low even by Kapiti Coast District Council’s own dreadful standards….
“This is not democracy at work. This is an authoritarian, bullying Council that brooks no questioning, admits no wrong and uses whatever tactics it can, using ratepayers’ money, to attack and defend itself at all costs against the very people who fund its work on their behalf.”
It is your prerogative, as editor, to not print my comment on this opinion piece, the essence of which was that I was there, and I didn’t think the Acting Chair brought the issue up, but I stand to be corrected if proved wrong.
Perhaps it would be worthwhile someone actually checking the audio records before going to print. The writer John Le Harivel hasn’t responded to my weekend request for him to email me the audioclip of the incident he is referring to.
Audio records of this and all KCDC meetings are available to any member of the public upon request just ask for the Democratic services staff on 042964700.
