Keeping our rivers safe and clean is a job we share with our community and the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
You might have noticed that there’s been an increase in people dumping a variety of things in our rivers lately — from bikes and mattresses, to thumb tacks and glass bottles.
If you do spot things like this out there, please let us know as soon as possible on 0800 486 486 or kapiti.council@kapiticoast.govt.nz so we can arrange to have them removed.
Or, if it’s safe to do so, you can always remove the items and place them in the nearest bin.
