from Simeon Brown (National MP)
Under Labour, $35 million has been spent on consultants for ‘Let’s Get Wellington Moving’ but only $235,000 has actually been spent on delivery.
It’s a talk test, with your money being wasted on pretty pictures and consultation documents, while the cost of living continues to soar.
This comes on top of $50 million for the Auckland cycle bridge which was then cancelled and millions spent on Auckland Light Rail which could cost up to $29 billion.
Labour is good at talking about transport, but has no idea how to deliver.
On the lighter side (for those with a lack of humour), though, perhaps true and appropriate to all those jabcinda appointed consultants.
A consultant is like a capon (a neutralised rooster): “it sits on the fence, tells the other rooster what to do, and tries to remember what it used to be like.”
“……and tries to remember what it used to be like.” But all trace of history had been removed . Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. History has stopped.”
