Short answer: Leftists

by Geoffrey Churchman
The agitators of TV One News are back again arguing for Jacinda’s promised but fortunately not-yet delivered laws against ‘Speech Leftists Hate.’ Off they ran to the delusional and obsessive Paul Spoonley who is a good mate of the dreadful Patrick Gower and has now been appointed by the Jacinda government as co-director — along with the aggressive and vile Joanna Kidman — of the perversely named ‘Centre of Research Excellence for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.’ Enough said.
One reason why the Jacinda regime may have had second thoughts about yet more laws could be that when it comes to anti-Jewish sentiment, most of the offenders are in fact wackos on the Hard Left — see this post from March. We’ve seen the Green Party’s MPs marching in favour of the destruction of Israel, and by implication its predominately Jewish population.
Someone may have told Andrew Little who appointed Meng Foon, a.k.a. ‘Foon the Hoon’, as Race Relations Commissioner that this long time Labour Party hack is also a prime offender — see this post from January 2021 by Christopher Ruthe.
I grew up never understanding racism and rarely encountered any — I had Maori, Samoan, Malaysian and Chinese friends and race didn’t matter to me, or them. Even when I went to America in 1980 I didn’t encounter any evidence of it, although some must have simmered under the surface.
But the form of racism that made the least sense of all was anti-Semitism — most Jews looked European and indistinguishable from non-Jews — what was the problem? Some history research revealed that it went back centuries. In 1290, the entire Jewish population of England was expelled from the country on the orders of King Edward I. In Venice a Ghetto for Jews was instituted on 29 March 1516 by decree of Doge Leonardo Loredan and the Venetian Senate. It was not the first time that Jews in Venice were compelled to live in a segregated area of the city. Since medieval times many societies had forced their Jewish citizens to wear badges to identify themselves. In the Middle East it goes back much further: says wikipedia: “The practice of wearing special clothing or markings to distinguish Jews and other non-Muslims (dhimmis) in Muslim-dominated countries seems to have been introduced in the Umayyad Caliphate by Caliph Umar II in the early 8th century.”
The huge problem we have today is that of Leftists obsessed with neo-Marxist Critical Race Theory which has to be stamped out and replaced with the principles of Equality and rejection of racism of any kind, particularly that which the Jacinda government has been responsible for.
