It is a good job we don’t drive to work and the shops in earth moving machinery then isn’t it.
Will I buy an EV van when they become available? Most definitely, $7 a day in electricity makes sense to me.
Tata EV vans and the ENV 500s are not reliable enough or suitable.
Of course I’m not stuck in the “it’s got to be all or nothing” mentality like people on both sides of this argument seem to be.
Thanks for doing the conversion, I bet most “youngsters” not only wouldn’t know how to do it, but also don’t know that a US gallon is less than an Imperial one
The battle between EV and ICE is just another distraction all about wealth transfer, feed us 2nd tier tech while hidden suppressed tech stays hidden within shadow government. UFO one example, the world could be such a different place.
JFK even wanted full transparency of governments just before he was shot he ask for classified UFO information.
EVs create piles of junk from mining and then in less time than an ICE become junk themselves. Most people do not have the wherewithal to replace the battery.
Recharging stations and locations are a joke as of course is the coal and natural gas power stations stations which generate the electricity. Will EV charging be prioritised over industrial and domestic consumers?
The infrastructure for ICE here and has worked well for decades.
With an EV you are sitting on a bomb and who wants EMR? There was a case in the US where the appellant took Nissan to court for causing cancer after driving an EV. If the battery leaks or the EV is involved in a crash, well good luck, you’re going to need it. There have been distressed fire fighters who have had to watch people trapped in EVs burn to death because it was unsafe to rescue the occupants.
A lot of this green nonsense has been designed to cow, tax and scare people to death. I can’t believe people told young children in 2019 the planet would be over in 12 years. Why did they ever have children? Remember Al Gore saying the polar caps would melt by 2014? The caps are still there and the wealthy continue to buy beachfront properties. Take your cue from the elite, if there is a rash of beach front properties for sale then there may be something to it.
Weather can be manufactured by HAARP and Doppler and has been used to change to course of hurricanes and bring rain to arid regions for decades
Small brown children often get to mine cobalt and lithium so the virtue-signallers can drive around town thinking how wonderful they are in their EVs while perhaps accusing people of being racists would not be able to grasp the irony if in fact it crossed their minds.
EVs are a scam designed to create a new class system, essentially the de-democratisation of motoring.

Except we no longer have a refinery and there have been no knew licenses for oil exploration in NZ waters. Relying on poor quality imports of fuel when we no longer have the facility to improve them is not an example of robust infrastructure. If the tanker sailing here has substandard fuel how far away is the one behind it and what is the quality of that fuel?
“With an EV you are sitting on a bomb”
Like a petrol bomb? The IRA used fuel oil (diesel) for their bombs.
“who wants EMR?”
Too late it is already everywhere, it even emanates from the walls of your home and the synthetic clothes you wear.
“There was a case in the US where the appellant took Nissan to court for causing cancer after driving an EV.”
People sue for everything in the US, what was the outcome of the court case? Now the case against Monsanto, the plaintive won, but they just got bought out by one of their shell companies and carried on.
“If the battery leaks or the EV is involved in a crash, well good luck, you’re going to need it.”
Lithium cells are a dry cell, what exactly could leak?
“There have been distressed fire fighters who have had to watch people trapped in EVs burn to death because it was unsafe to rescue the occupants.”
Back when I worked in the automotive industry the vehicle recovery men used to talk about seeing people melting in fires, the only thing that ever seemed to get to them was when there was children involved, cars set on fire, EV or ICE, houses also set on fire, are we going to live in caves instead?
I get it, you don’t like EVs, well don’t buy one then. You won’t be alone, it’s not all going to change that quickly, it is all just fear-mongering and by both sides of the argument.
I’m no expert on fuels but doesn’t diesel have a higher ignition point and from I understand modern cars have “stoppers” in the fuel tanks in case the car rolls.
EMR – the ubiquity is scary. To counter this where I can:
* unplug the router at night
* carry mobile phone in bag but ideally leave at home
* researching buying a mattress that does not have metal springs to avoid being cooked while sleeping
* not charging phones in the bedroom
* having an old-fashioned alarm clock
* researching clothing like hoodies which can block EMR
I have watched Barrie Trower who has been involved with EMR technology in MI5 or MI6 and he acknowledges that mobile phones can be lifesavers but he is very concerned about the cancer rates from devices like mobile phones and radios. There have been a number of police officers in Britain who have developed eye cancer from leaning in on the side where the radio is positioned on the chest to speak into the device. Barrie has cautioned women not to store their phones in their bras as there are now cancers appearing in quadrants of the breast that were formerly very rare. He has also advised women against wearing underwire bras because of the potential for conductivity.
With the lithium battery I probably should have phrased it as damaged.
Caves are out for me but if an EV catches fire and possibly explodes then this is a risk I wouldn’t be willing to take.
If people want to buy a Tesla then go for it, we are for the moment still somewhat free, I just don’t want to park next to their car as I can’t afford another vehicle should their vehicle catch fire or worse.
Reality, by the numbers; and that does not include the cost to “charge the batteries” of the car, to keep EV drivable.
