The one in Waikanae is scheduled at:

Waikanae Community Centre
Tuesday 26 July
4–6pm
28–32 Utauta Street, Waikanae

In Kapiti both a councilor and community board member role involve long hours for an effective poor hourly pay rate. To be frank, the councilor role does not suit anyone who has another full time job. In our view, both the previous and the present Waikanae ward councilors have suffered from trying to do both.

Gwynn Compton decided he had to give up a good job at Beef + Lamb NZ to give the councilor role the attention it needed and that’s a big financial sacrifice; we fully understand why he wants to go back to a adequately paying career, even though the mayoral role would have given him about $145K a year.
