Elaine Engman reports in Neighbourly that at least three cyclists have received significant injuries down in the vicinity of 173 Te Moana Road in the last week near the Expressway –
She says NZTA has just repaved part of Te Moana Rd and replaced the driveways on the East side of the expressway. The resulting three levels (road surface, gutter and driveway) make it impossible to turn onto the footpath from the road unless the cyclist swings out into traffic to approach the driveway straight on.
