Klyuchevskoy volcano in Russia starts erupting after earthquake

Another big emission of CO2 that Greta and Antonio’s Climate Cult can’t stop, but again it’s good for the planet.

from the Epoch Times

Located around 280 miles [450 km] north of the regional capital, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Klyuchevskoy is one of the highest volcanoes in the world.

The Klyuchevskoy volcano on Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula began erupting after Wednesday’s powerful earthquake in the Pacific, a geological monitoring service said.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the Russian Academy of Sciences’ United Geophysical Service said: “A descent of burning hot lava is observed on the western slope. Powerful glow above the volcano, explosions.”

It has erupted several times in recent years.

Scientists have anticipated an eruption, with the volcano’s crater filling with lava for several weeks and the mountain spitting out plumes of ash.

Sometimes described as the “land of fire and ice,” Kamchatka is one of the most active volcanic regions in the world. It has about 300 volcanoes, of which 29 are active, according to NASA Earth Observatory.

Wednesday’s 8.8 magnitude quake off Kamchatka damaged buildings and injured several people in the remote Russian region, but no fatalities were reported.

Political scientist John Mearsheimer talks to Tucker Carlson

He says neither Zelensky nor Netanyahu should receive any Empire support.

The Tucker Carlson Show

What is the Israeli government’s strategy in Gaza? Professor John Mearsheimer has an idea.

He says Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies are using October 7th as an excuse to carry out what they’ve long envisioned: the expulsion of the Palestinian population from “greater Israel.” The evidence suggests he’s onto something.

Where will this lead? And why don’t more people open their eyes to what’s really happening? Mearsheimer joined today’s Tucker Carlson Show to describe what he says is a genocide, expose the power of the Israel lobby, discuss what’s being hidden in the 9/11, Epstein, and JFK files, and more.
 Watch now.

some facts about China

31 Thursday Jul 2025

Posted by Waikanae watchers in Uncategorized

Like India, China is certain to ignore Trump & Lindsey Graham’s 100% tariff threat over buying Russian oil. But if the pair go ahead with it, these are considerations that State Dept policy wonks are sure not to have told them:

China has 19% of the world’s population, but consumes

  • 53% of the world’s cement
  • 48% of the world’s iron ore
  • 47% of the world’s coal
  • And the majority of just about every other major commodity.

In 2024, China produced 1 billion tons of steel — the United States produced only 88 million tons.

China made and sold 31 million vehicles in 2024.

There are more pigs in China than in the next 43 pork producing nations combined.

China currently has the world’s fastest train and the world’s largest high-speed rail network.

China is currently the number one producer in the world of wind and solar power equipment, but don’t use it themselves. While they manufacture 80% of the world’s solar panels, they install less than 5% and build a new coal fired power station every week. In one year they turn on more new coal powered electricity than Australia ‘s total output.

China currently controls more than 90% of the total global supply of rare earth elements.

In the past 15 years, China has moved from 14th place to 2nd place in the world in published scientific research articles.

China now possesses the fastest supercomputer on the entire globe.

At the end of March 2024, China had accumulated $3.32 trillion in US foreign currency reserves — the largest stockpile on the entire globe.

They are already the largest carbon dioxide emitter and their output will rise 70% by 2030.

But Leftists think they are saving the planet with their demand for zero emissions?! It will not make one iota of difference what we do in NZ/Australia, or Canada/the United States or the EU for that matter, all the politicians are doing is increasing our cost of living and making our manufacturers uncompetitive in the world market, when countries like China are growing and consuming at these extraordinary rates.

comment by Geoffrey Churchman

If it wasn’t for Nato’s current war in Eastern Europe this is where Eva and I would have gone this month to get away from the Kapiti winter.

So many go to Croatia these days that it’s no longer considered a bargain destination, but other countries in the Balkans are still economic. Traveling by rail means you avoid fairly ordinary roadside buildings and instead see largely unspoiled natural areas — another advantage is you don’t have to do any driving! (In the video the scenery gets interesting at about the 45-minute mark).

This arrived in our in-box yesterday and was immediately obvious as a scam.

Lots of people must fall for these, otherwise why would they persist?

What you do is report it to authorities, including to the organisation that is being impersonated, in this case — Latest scams

It’s been the lowest six-month human death toll from bad weather since records began

Greta and Antonio’s Climate Cult won’t like that.

From Chris Morrison at dailyskeptic.org:

Something rather odd is happening to the weather. Millions, nay billions, are on the move fleeing droughts, floods, wildfires, runaway temperatures, rising sea levels (see any mainstream media page climate page to fill in rest of sentence). Armageddon will only be put on pause when hard-Left elites take control of the climate and corral us all into their fantasy world of Net Zero. But hold on a minute – news just in. The first half of 2025 has seen the smallest number of deaths related to extreme weather since records began. And more weird weather news – despite boiling seas, all four northern hemisphere ocean basins in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific are running below average on accumulated cyclone energy. The North Atlantic has seen very little activity with the ACE energy measurement from January 1st to July 21st running at only 41% of the 1991-2020 average.

The cyclone news is natural variation of course, but don’t let on to climate fanatics. The news on deaths from extreme weather is not. It is a long-term trend that has seen weather fatalities plunge by over 99% during the last 100 years. As hydrocarbon use pulls billions out of grinding poverty, so fortunate humans can use the extra wealth to protect themselves against all that Nature throws at life on Earth.

Roger Pielke Jnr has compiled the weather and climate related deaths over the last 25 years and his graph above shows that just 2,200 deaths from a world population of over 8 billion can be attributed to the weather in the first six months of the year. Past number spikes are invariably caused by one-off disasters such as the 138,00 fatalities attributed to Cyclone Nargis in the Indian Ocean during 2008. Pielke concludes that it is likely that the first half of 2025 has seen the fewest deaths related to extreme weather of any half year “in recorded history”.

a vile WEF-style medical paper

The things that make you say ‘What the Stuff’?

Western Michigan University’s “medical ethics” professors Parker Crutchfield and Blake Hereth released a vile paper pushing for the intentional spread of a tickborne disease to force severe red meat allergies on people, sanctimoniously declaring that eating red meat is “morally impermissible.”

another creative outlet: Kapiti Writers Group

30 Wednesday Jul 2025

via KC News

Novels are a long, hot bath, short stories are a short, cold shower!

Sage advice given from author and poet Trish Veltman at a workshop she and fellow Kāpiti author, Anne Ingram, recently gave to members of the Kāpiti Writers’ Group.

Are you a writer? Or thinking of writing? As well as attending workshops throughout the year, Kāpiti writers meet each month to learn about and encourage each other in the craft of writing. The group has experienced and beginner writers, who write in many forms, for many purposes.

The group has a long history on the coast, beginning with a focus on writing for children and growing to encompass writers of any genre. Founding members had two main objectives when they formed the group over a decade ago: ‘(a) to celebrate our place and (b) to expand our group into a community of writers.’

These objectives have been achieved, and the group is a thriving and friendly group of people keen to learn more about their craft. New members and enquiries are welcome.
