poll: only 15% of Americans trust Biden for covid information, even fewer trust the media

A new poll finds that President Joe Biden is not viewed as a trustworthy source of information on Covid-19 by the vast majority of Americans, but even fewer people trust the news media.

NewsNation and Decision Desk HQ teamed up to survey Americans about their thoughts on the pandemic for a poll that was released this week.

NewsNation reported:

NewsNation and Decision Desk HQ’s poll about the COVID-19 pandemic confirmed what many thought: Americans are transitioning from COVID-19 concerns to economic concerns such as inflation. But it also revealed registered voters’ thoughts on masks and vaccines, who they trust and who they may vote for this November.

Several other questions in the survey stood out. For example, just over 73 percent of respondents said they were in favor of indoor mask requirements, while almost 27 percent said they opposed them.

More than 56 percent of those polled said they were in favor of requiring people to prove their vaccine status, while almost 44 percent said they were opposed to such measures.

The poll let respondents select five options for information about the pandemic. Sixty-three percent of respondents said they trust their own doctor, while almost 50 percent said they trust federal health agencies such as the CDC and the FDA.

Dr. Anthony Fauci only had the confidence of 30 percent of respondents.

Meanwhile, respondents to the poll expressed they eye Biden’s information about the pandemic with skepticism. The president was viewed as a trustworthy source of Covid information by only 15 percent of those who participated in the survey.

The news media came in dead last. A mere 10 percent of those who responded to the poll said they view reporting on the pandemic as being trustworthy.

The poll surveyed 1,013 registered voters online and reported differing margins of error per question. Click here and here to view the survey’s full findings.

So why does it appear public trust in Jacindaland is much higher in Dear Leader and her Legacy Media propagandists when there’s absolutely no reason for it?

more outdoor events are being cancelled

Ever more restrictive (and illogical) rules by the Jacinda government are causing a steady cancellation of events. The Coffee and Cars event (photo above) on Sunday 13 February at Southwards has joined the casualty list. Until the Jacinda government overcomes its Omicron phobia, very little is likely to take place.

Biden administration thinks the U.S. borders end at Neptune

by Caitlin Johnstone

Yep. Just hanging around, killing time, waiting to find out whether the US is going to start World War 3 now or a little later on.

❖

Washington: Russia’s gonna invade Ukraine.

Moscow: We’re not gonna invade Ukraine.

Kyiv: Yeah Russia’s not gonna invade Ukraine.

Washington: Russia’s definitely about to invade Ukraine.

Entirety of western media: RUSSIA 100% CERTAIN TO INVADE UKRAINE ANY SECOND NOW

❖

Both Moscow and Kyiv agree that there wil be no unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine. Washington keeps insisting that if there’s a war Russia will be the aggressor, but in reality all that has to happen for there not to be a Ukraine war is for US/NATO powers not to start one.

❖

It’s actually a bit enraging to see western elites kicking around people’s emotions and personal psychology like a motherfucking hacky sack with bullshit propaganda all the time just to make money for the military-industrial complex and advance some dopey geostrategic agendas in Eurasia.

❖

Biden says “everything south of the Mexican border is America’s front yard.” Jen Psaki says Eastern Europe is “our eastern flank”. The US government firmly believes its territorial borders extend to the outer planets in our solar system.

Holocaust Memorial Day: Portraits of last remaining UK survivors unveiled

29 Saturday Jan 2022

Portraits of seven of the UK’s last remaining Holocaust survivors have gone on display at the Queen’s Gallery to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day [27 January].

The Prince of Wales, who commissioned them, said they were a living memorial to the six million people “whose stories will never be told, whose portraits will never be painted”.

A ceremony was streamed online to commemorate the victims.

People were asked to leave a lighted candle in their window in remembrance.

Around the UK, landmark buildings including the London Eye, Edinburgh Castle, Cardiff Castle and the Titanic museum in Belfast were illuminated in purple, the colour of Holocaust Memorial Day.

Prince Charles said he commissioned the portraits as an enduring reminder of the horrors of the Nazi regime in World War Two and in tribute to the Jewish refugees who made their home in Britain.

Petition to stop employers discriminating against unjabbed

29 Saturday Jan 2022

Petition of Jeanette Wilson

Petition request

That the House of Representatives make it illegal for any employer (whether in public, private, or third sector) to mandate vaccination for its employees.

Petition reason

I believe that: making vaccination a condition of employment undermines the principle of informed consent; all people should have the right to bodily autonomy and must never be coerced into receiving a medical intervention they do not want; any medical intervention must always be with properly informed consent (awareness of risks verses benefits) and be free of coercion (whether explicit or implicit).

the Ministry of Health is looking for a ‘controlling mind’

29 Saturday Jan 2022

Posted by Waikanae watchers in Uncategorized

from the BFD

The Ministry of Health is looking for a mind, having demonstrably lost theirs during the course of the Kung Flu-demic.

They’re not looking for just any mind, no sir, they want a controlling one, which – to be fair – seems par for the course of this outbreak, where excessive and unnecessary control is all that particular organ has blown out of its pipes, to our detriment.

It’s a shame because I’m sure, should they ask, most New Zealanders would prefer MOH hired a competent mind instead of a controlling one. Someone who, perhaps, having decided on the vaccination route may have had vaccine orders in place on time, a system to administer them, and people in place to vaccinate.

On announcing the vaccination strategy in September 2020 we had 5,000 (approximately) people authorised to administer, and six months later, eagerly anticipating their late arrival in March 2021, we had 5,000 (approximately) people authorised to administer. Yes: an increase of zero. Getting their smug bureaucratic ducks in a row came first, before efficiency, determined as they were – with a controlling mind – that jabbers were to be ‘equitable’ when Wiremu and Wendy Public had asked only for proficient and capable.

The multiple mistakes in the administration were, of course, dwarfed by their controlling mind propaganda, examples of which were legion but nevertheless burned into the gullible public’s brains. Remember “immunisation” and the lie that the vaccine conferred that elusive gift – immunity, as in: you won’t get it? Many still believe it, while the controlling minds just did what they’ve done throughout and played switch, telling no one:

an excursion for those disappointed by the Waikanae Garden Trail cancellation

The Bason Botanic Garden is on the road between W’anganui and Kai Iwi Beach and could be done as a day trip from Waikanae (about 150 km each way).

This garden covers a reasonable area and is well worth a visit. It was begun on private farmland before being donated to the local council.

We need to end plastic pollution

28 Friday Jan 2022

Posted by Waikanae watchers in Uncategorized

from Avaaz

We’ve seen it choking life in the deepest oceans and on the highest mountains. Now shocking studies are finding plastic pollution everywhere: in the rain, our food, our drinking water, even in the human placenta! It’s poisoning us, and all life on Earth.

But finally we have a unique opportunity to change it.

Right now, the United Nations is considering a new ambitious global treaty to end plastic pollution. If countries agree to it, we have a real chance of cleaning up our planet! But big polluters are already trying to water down the proposal.

It’s up to all of us to show them that the whole world supports the strongest possible treaty, to end the plastic crisis! Governments are meeting in days – click to add your voice and forward to everyone you can:

Plastic is toxic from the moment production begins. And it doesn’t decompose! A plastic bottle breaks down into tiny, invisible pieces that can travel around the world through water and air, contaminating all life on Earth.

Even rain is polluted with plastic. Scientists in the US found that rain is flooding protected national parks with 1,000 tons of microplastics every year — that’s the equivalent of up to 300 million plastic bottles!

This is a planetary emergency, and we need an urgent, coordinated global response. That’s why more than 100 countries are calling for a global treaty that could bring an end to the throwaway-plastic culture, and transition the world into a future that protects people, wildlife and our climate.

But big oil, chemical firms and major plastic-manufacturing countries are already trying to water down the plan. So we need to mobilise fast, and show our governments at the key UN meeting next month that people everywhere demand the strongest possible treaty to end the plastic plague:

Sign here: END PLASTIC POLLUTION

We’ve done it before. Our movement spearheaded the mobilisations that led to the landmark Climate Paris Agreement, and more recently we mobilised from around the world to stop rich countries from dumping their plastic onto low-income nations. These battles can be long, and treaties don’t magically solve such huge crises. But this is our best chance to kick-start a global coordinated response – so we all have to speak out, and keep pushing for a world safe from plastic.

Highest inflation in over 30 years hitting Kiwis hard

28 Friday Jan 2022

Posted by Waikanae watchers in Uncategorized

(National Party media release)

The Finance Minister must rein in his spending to avoid adding more fuel to the inflationary fire that is hurting everyday New Zealanders, National’s Finance spokesperson Simon Bridges says.

“At 5.9% for 2021, inflation is the highest it has been in three decades. It’s a thief in New Zealanders’ pockets, and it’s the least well-off Kiwis who will be doing it the toughest.

“Parents will have to put food back at the supermarket, workers will only be able to partly fill up at the petrol station, and there’s even less hope for young people trying to buy their first home.

“With wage growth of only 2.4%, well under half of inflation’s growth, New Zealanders are going backward. At the same time, we’ve got rising interest rates and record amounts of government spending.

“Grant Robertson’s spending has been 40% higher throughout his time as Finance Minister than it was under National. This year he’s planning to increase that to a staggering 68% at $128 billion, with $6 billion in new spending.

“While elevated spending was appropriate through much of the pandemic, some easing off and greater focus on the quality of spending is now required.

“The big spend increasingly won’t achieve anything in a constrained economy where each public dollar is just competing with New Zealanders’ investments in scarce resources and workers.

“Even worse, big spending now will simply push inflation higher, which will act as a double whammy, hitting New Zealanders in the pocket twice through the inflation effect and as the Reserve Bank is forced to continue hiking up interest rates, higher than would otherwise be necessary.

“Grant Robertson’s glib response on inflation in the past has been that ‘it’s international’. If that’s a complete answer, then he needs to explain why the domestic part of New Zealand’s inflation is also rising and why Australia’s is considerably lower than ours at 3.5% over the same period.

“More importantly though, he needs to act by focusing on the quality of his spending and reining it in so that everyday Kiwis don’t keep getting burnt by price rises that far outstrip wage increases.”
