We made this a key by-election plank as the problem of conservation versus business greed is ubiquitous and we have had first hand experience of it with a certain property business manager next to us in Waikanae.  stuff.co.nz story 

This is being held by the KCDC in the empty shop next to Waikanae Library, part of the Council’s Long Term Plan open day. It “will have a specific focus on transforming Waikanae town centre and information on the car parking and traffic flow studies that have helped inform the final concepts.”

Our views?  See the earlier post.  As an example of a diesel-multiple-unit train that could run between Palmerston North and Waikanae, here is a picture of a Capital MetroRail Train that began running in Austin, Texas (Austin is the state capital of Texas) in 2010. This type of train is also widely used in Europe.

Foxton is 55 km north of Waikanae, thus about the same distance as Waikanae from Wellington, and has several historical murals around the town like the one shown.  Something Waikanae could emulate?

Certainly not on administration expenses – and that is the estimated cost of creating the proposed giant-size bureaucrat-run ‘super-city’.

How many new Waikanae water dams could be built for that?  A few of them at least, and creating more water catchment and storage for the first quarter of the year when there isn’t much rainfall is something the region needs.

Enough money is wasted on unproductive bureaucrats as it is – we don’t want to see any more wasted on them.
