If Obama’s Hillary Clinton had just kept her mitts off Syria and allowed Assad to remain peacefully in power (Israel didn’t like him but showed no enthusiasm for ousting him) things should have been OK there.

Jordan carries out airstrikes in Syria against drug trafficking

DAMASCUS (ANP) – Syrian state television reports that Jordan has carried out airstrikes on a weapons and drug storage facility in the southern province of Sweida. Local sources told state television that the Jordanian army “likely” hit a headquarters controlled by rebel groups in the village of Shahba. The Jordanian army reports a “deterrence operation” targeting various locations along Jordan’s northern border allegedly used by arms and drug traffickers.

Local sources told a correspondent for news agency AFP that a series of airstrikes hit at least five locations. These reportedly included storage facilities in the Syrian city of Arman. According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, one of the airstrikes took place near a security post.

Jordan previously carried out attacks on southern Syria to tackle drug trafficking. The new Syrian government and Jordan are both fighting drug trafficking along their shared border.
