Holding at least one of the Community Board meetings in the beach area was another one of Geoffrey’s proposals during last year’s election, so it’s good to see heed being taken of it.

A message from Sam Hutcheson:

Kia ora koutou,

Come along on Tuesday night

The Waikanae Community Board will be meeting at the Waikanae Boating Club on Tuesday (14 March) for a celebration of Our Future Waikanae Beach and their usual Board meeting. So many people have been involved in this work – everyone is warmly invited to come along and celebrate this milestone.

The drafting team have just finished a final edit of the vision and action plan, taking into account the recent feedback. The booklet will be ready, and you will be able to pick up a copy on the night. Coffee and tea will be available from 6.45 pm. The meeting will open formally at 7 pm and then adjourn temporarily for our celebration. The Board meeting will reconvene with public speaking after the celebration. I’ve attached the Board’s meeting agenda for your information. While it is fine to just come for the celebration, you may also like to stay on for the formal endorsement of Our Future-Waikanae Beach. The report is reasonably early on the agenda after the consideration of funding applications.

I look forward to seeing you there, ngā mihi,

Sam Hutcheson
