A unique chess tournament will be played in Kapiti on Sunday 27 May 2018 at the Paraparaumu Library says Kapiti Chess Club President Alan Winfield
“As far as I know, there has never been played in NZ a chess Tournament that does not allow the strongest players attend. We are restricting our Tournament to medium to weaker players, with aim to give this group a chance to win.
“All members of the public, including junior players are welcome to play, if so be at the Library by 8:30am. If you are not a player, you can still come along and watch chess in action.
“The Tournament will be 6 rounds over the day. Each game will have a time control of 25 minutes per player, plus a 5 second per move add-on.
