(Social Credit party media release)
Government funding for essential services like Plunket, St Johns Ambulance, and the Salvation Army needs to increase by at least 15 percent.
Those services were already underfunded due to massive immigration over the last ten years prior to inflation taking off and they are now in a desperate situation.
They are providing services the government would have to run and pay for fully if they were to close down. The government is paying around $5 billion every year in interest to commercial banks on its borrowing when it could access much of its funding needs from its own bank, the Reserve Bank — at zero interest — as set out in the aide memoir written by the Treasury and Reserve Bank to Grant Robertson in May 2020.
“Monetary Financing involves financing a fiscal deficit not by the issue of interest-bearing debt, but by an increase in the monetary base.”
“It can meet the specific funding needs of the government at lower initial cost and with greater certainty than Quantitative Easing.”
If it took that advice it would free up massive amounts of taxpayer money for those organisations and still leave billions to go into hospitals, schools, and poverty reduction.
The government borrows by issuing bonds.
The purchase of those bonds by the banks is not made using funds people have deposited with them. Nor is it made with shareholders’ capital.
It is made with money created out of thin air, in the same way as the Reserve Bank created $60 billion over the last two years.
The government is therefore paying $5 billion every year of taxpayer money for fairy dust.
Clearly Grant Robertson favours the interests of wealthy commercial bank shareholders over those of kiwis needing the services that Plunket, St Johns, the Salvation Army, doctors, nurses, and teachers provide.
That situation would be just as bad under National which is wedded to the same economic philosophy.
A new economic approach is required that puts Kiwis first.
And ……………… what did “the woman” give, of our tax paid dollars, to the nazi idiot running Ukraine.
She, and her out-of-control sycophants (maahootaa, little andrew, grant-the-lad, et al) spend our tax paid dollars like there is no tomorrow.
Does our prime minister have any interest, or care, for the people of NEW ZEALAND ??
Her record of lies, and lack of achievement, gives the answer.
This PM and her coven of advisors have relentlessly bulldozed through this country. Why oh why are people still clinging to the govt propaganda spread by govt paid gutter/sewer press? I am waiting for people to take off their massk, pull back the curtain before them and see what is going on, waiting, waiting…………………………
It’s not just her and Labour. Hailing from a country where the ambulances are funded by taxes I was astounded when I found out that NZ ambulances are funded by donation. What a no brainier, when you have ACC to have tax payer funded ambulances too. How can you access free health care if there are not free ambulances also?
It’s like having free diving suit hire at the bottom of the ocean.
Yet there are oodles of dollars available for politician’s vanity projects and virtue signalling causes.
All parties, National, Green, Maori and Labour need lining up and shooting, and that is the lot of them, for not picking this up and raising it in parliament, as soon as they were elected to represent the people.
This is disgracefully true also in terms of the meagre funding support (as in a quarter of their running costs) that the Government provides to hospices. This leaves hospices dependant on the good will of the appreciative people that they serve so well.
Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) Auckland – What a disgusting name for a Health Service in New Zealand
Fred …………… you champion – what a “pick” for a name. Could only be by a bunch of idiots who are imposing themselves, as the minority, on the majority.
When will NEW ZEALANDERS wake up to this labour driven fraud of pandering to the minority (yes, they are the ‘so called Maori’ – no true maori in existence in our COUNTRY); and the related name changes to almost everything from government departments, to the TV One weather reports, etc, etc, etc …………….. it is English which has been used in our COUNTRY for many many decades. May that continue.
