Best known as the eastern terminus of the Transsiberian Railway, Vladivostok (“Lord of the East”) is a city of about 600,000 on the Sea of Japan and close to both China and North Korea. Visiting it may be a problem at present because of Biden’s war against Russia and all the sanctions he has imposed, but hopefully that will end with a change in the White House occupancy. In the meantime, here is a Russian redhead who shows you around.

Thanks for this. Vladivostok looks quite appealing, so perhaps my Transsiberian Rail trip can start there instead of Beijing.
There is a film called Transsiberian, which is unexpectedly sinister, enough to put one off in fact. Perhaps more to the point, travel to Russia is at present discouraged because of the war.
