It will be remembered the Obama administration with the evil Hillary as Secretary of State tried to depose Assad as he had good relations with Russia — but it didn’t work out as Assad asked Russia for help in combatting the US-backed insurgents. The conflict wrecked a fair bit of the country and allowed ISIS to gain a major foothold — they’re still there, as is the US which illegally occupies a sizeable, oil-rich part of the country.

Strangely the Arab league also invited Zelensky to speak even though the league has made clear it is not interested in supporting him against Russia — see here — neither is Israel. They all see the American Empire under the Biden administration crumbling.
