The Council has decided local shops in the district will continue to be allowed to trade on Easter Sunday if they wish. There is no change to the current policy.

Easter Sunday is not a public holiday as Good Friday and Easter Monday are, so a policy is needed that makes clear whether shops are allowed to open or not. If they were not, they could be subject to a fine. Easter Saturday is a normal Saturday for shop trading rules.
