Zelensky was in the U.S. collecting more money and munitions while insulting Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. It was blatant disrespect to half the country and election interference. Ukraine is losing the war, but the Democrats want to keep the war going because it is profitable to the Military Industrial Complex as well as all the corruption and kickbacks that they need to see maintained.
The Democrats pretend Ukraine is a democracy that must be protected but in reality Zelensky is a heartless tyrant killing off Ukrainian citizens. There is no free press in Ukraine. Criticism of the CIA-installed Zelensky and his war are not allowed. There are no elections and many churches have been closed.
It’s time to cut off all money and munitions to Ukraine and force them to the peace table with Putin, who is willing to negotiate. As for Israel, the fighting will never end. There’s not much we can do about it unless we pour in endless lives and trillions of dollars for the cause. The war in Afghanistan cost many thousands of American lives and trillions of dollars. It lasted over 20 years.
ProPublica’s Brett Murphy, who has been covering aspects of this story for months, has a new article out titled “Israel Deliberately Blocked Humanitarian Aid to Gaza, Two Government Bodies Concluded. Antony Blinken Rejected Them.” In it we learn that both USAID and the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration produced two separate reports this past spring concluding that Israel was deliberately blocking much-needed humanitarian aid from Palestinian civilians in Gaza, which under US law should have led to the suspension of US weapons supplies. Blinken dismissed these findings, as did the rest of the headless cohort known as the Biden administration.
Days after receiving these reports, Blinken delivered a statement to congress that he knew to be false, saying, “We do not currently assess that the Israeli government is prohibiting or otherwise restricting the transport or delivery of U.S. humanitarian assistance.”
This was a lie. Blinken’s own people were telling him Israel was obstructing aid, but he lied to congress about it in order to ensure that Israel would keep receiving the weapons it needs to keep killing Palestinian and Lebanese civilians.
This is what happens when you don’t prosecute your war criminals. Blinken lied to congress that Israel wasn’t assessed to have been blocking aid when both USAID and the State Department’s refugees bureau had indeed assessed that the Israeli government is doing precisely that, because he knew he’d never be jailed for lying in facilitation of horrific war crimes.
Blinken has watched George W Bush’s entire cabinet not only walk free but continue to have high-profile careers in government, punditry, think tanks and the military-industrial complex, when they all should have been caged for two decades now. He watched CIA officials like Michael Hayden lie to congress about the agency’s torture program without ever facing any consequences. He watched Director of National Intelligence James Clapper lie to congress about the NSA’s surveillance program without ever facing any consequences. He knew he could lie to congress about some of the worst atrocities his nation has ever participated in because he knew there would never be any consequences for this.
None of the world’s worst people are in prison, but if you ever did anything to try to bring them to justice yourself you’d spend the rest of your life behind bars, or be executed. The law doesn’t exist to protect ordinary people from the worst of our society, it exists to protect the worst of our society from ordinary people.
Someone gave deranged Zelensky supporter Ryan Routh who took an AK47 to the Trump Golf Course in Florida a schedule of Trump’s movements into October — who?
This is a science fiction/horror which means it’s not about that substance — it would be hard to produce fiction that is more horrific than the real stories of maiming and death from the Gates/Fauci/Big Pharma concoction that governments, including the Jacinda regime, imposed on people.
Instead, while the message is much the same — don’t inject an experimental unproven substance about whose dangers little is known — this is more like “Botched” meets Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray”.
She’s given a USB stick after being treated at a hospital after being in a car collision by a junior doctor who looks like he lives on a health farm. The USB content describes The Substance — “Have you ever dreamt of a better version of yourself? Younger, more beautiful, more perfect. One single injection unlocks your DNA, starting a new cellular division, that will release another version of yourself. This is the Substance. You are the matrix. Everything comes from you. Everything is you. This is simply a better version of yourself. You just have to share. One week for one and one week for the other. A perfect balance of seven days each. The one and only thing not to forget: You. Are. One. You can’t escape from yourself.”
Basically, users have one week in a body of their rejuvenated selves before they have to go back to a week in their present bodies.
Elisabeth rings a phone number to order it and is given an address in a grubby back alley to collect it from a box on a wall inside a white room. Subsequent calls get answered promptly “Yes?” by the same person (and not by a call center in the Philippines!)
It is as much a parody of the plastic people that inhabit satellite Hollywood towns like Beverly Hills where looks, including nails and teeth (often dazzling white titanium implants) matter a lot. The producer of a TV workout show (played by Dennis Quaid), a larger-than-life sleaze bag, decides that Elisabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore) has become too old as the class instructor and wants a younger more beautiful woman to do it. So, she tries this substance and gets — for a week at a time — transformed into one, renamed Sue (Margaret Qualley).
Demi Moore is 61 but still looks OK nude, Margaret Qualley is 29 looks great in a leotard, you get to see her nude also (although apparently the breasts aren’t her real ones which are a bit smaller).
It becomes a wild ride as it progresses as horror movies do — the prosthetics makers clearly let their imagination run and were probably inspired by the B grade schlock movie “The Rejuvenator” (1988). It is the sort of Stuff that used to feature in Ant Timpson’s Incredibly Strange Film Festival, which you came out of wondering ‘what on earth did I just watch?’ and could in time become a cult classic. Unlike the B grades, this one has high production values with A list stars and a theme which they are sure to relate to.
“The Substance” (129 minutes) is screening at The Shoreline.
