The consultant gravy train is now well and truly over. We set a target of eliminating $400 million of taxpayer spending on consultants. New data Friday shows we are on track to save more than double that.
This means we’re freeing up more money for frontline services – especially in health and education. It is all part of our plan to rebuild the economy to reduce the cost of living, restore law and order and deliver better public services.
Taxpayers are not a cash cow for consultants and contractors to line their pockets.
I’m delighted at these savings — it shows where there is a will, there is a way when it comes to respecting your tax dollars.
