I am genuinely buzzing to share this with you today. My very first book Hori McGory Eats a Moriori is officially out for sale on Amazon. This is a massive milestone for me and I am bloody stoked to finally get it into your hands!
On sale now at HoriMcGory.com The book itself is a dark satirical kids book for adults, inspired by the real history of 1835 when mainland tribes invaded the Chatham Islands. It is bold, controversial and unapologetic. Let’s hope this is the first of many!
The best marketplace to grab the book is Amazon.com.au. Their shipping to New Zealand is very reasonable, and if you spend over 60 dollars on Amazon, you can get shipping for free. They do not all have to be all Hori McGory books, of course!
This whole process has been stressful as anything, especially dealing with Kindle Publishing Direct, but the good thing is they handle all the printing, orders and dispatch. As a customer, Amazon has always been great in my experience, so that part is in safe hands. I have always been a big fan of third-party fulfilment.
My author copies are still making their way to New Zealand. These take far longer than standard customer orders, but once they arrive, I will have plenty on hand for giveaways and a bit of fun.
A quick thanks is in order. [Wokeist] Penguin Books sending me a DMCA takedown over a meme was the unexpected motivation I needed to actually write this book. And cheers to AgentPete8 for sparking the name Hori. I added McGory because, let’s be honest, the bloodbath on the Chathams was pretty gory. So thank you, Penguin — genuinely.
I have my copy on order ☺️
Will I be able to borrow it from the library ?
It may be a bit too non-Woke for the Council?
It will be banned from every library in”Aotearoa” in case some part Maori is offended.
Hilarious I would purchase a dozen books for Xmas presents
Let’s all put in requests and find out!
