Those who visited the previous The Halo Project – Ngā Manu exhibition at the Mahara Gallery which ended on 10 September will have seen several examples of Cushla McGaughey’s appealing bird art.

“Weighing just 6 grams and only 8 cm long, the Rifleman is our smallest bird. It belongs to an ancient family of New Zealand wrens. The larger Bush Wren is the only other surviving species.”
