Those who have been yearning for a good choice of reading material in the town since the Waikanae Library was closed by the KCDC two years ago will find a big choice of books they can take home and keep for next to nothing at the Memorial Hall. This was the scene about 8:30 am this morning.

We asked if any of the 60,000 books that the media have reported would be coming from the National Library’s collection dumping are there, but it doesn’t seem as if that happened. There are nevertheless still plenty of ‘gems’ to be found.
