the health benefits of cranberries

from NaturalHealth365

Doing things for our bodies that offer long-term benefits is something every one of us should entertain.  One of those things is to eat fruits and vegetables that can ward off cellular damage and nervous system failure.  Thanks to a study done by a prominent university in the United Kingdom, a tiny berry is making big waves in the health community.  That berry is the humble cranberry.

Cranberries are not just for Thanksgiving anymore … a new study shows that cranberries offer incredible neuroprotective benefits.  Researchers at the University of East Anglia have just discovered that eating cranberries may slow cognitive decline and improve memory function while also improving cholesterol levels.

Slash disease risk by adding a cup of cranberries to your daily diet

The scientists conducting the study included a group of people between the ages of 50 and 80-years-old.  Study participants ate a cup of cranberries a day for 12 weeks.  The results were impressive.

The good news is that when taking the right steps to prevent diseases, sometimes it’s just as simple as adding a cup of cranberries to your daily diet.  Cranberries are rated so highly as a preventative measure against cognitive decline because the berry is full of anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins that give the fruit its dark red color.  Plus, each cranberry is full of antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, and is chock full of micronutrients.  These vital nutrients go a long way in protecting brain health and cognitive function.

But wait, there is more!  Cranberries may improve cholesterol levels

In looking at how cholesterol levels were improved in the participants during the cranberry study, researchers found that the LDL (low-density lipoprotein) went down significantly after consuming cranberries daily.

Keep in mind, excessive levels of cholesterol can contribute to atherosclerosis, the hardening of the arteries, leading to cardiovascular events.  According to the CDC, an estimated 28 million Americans have elevated levels with the ratio between HDL and LDL levels being way off.  Therefore, improving vascular health is clearly part of the solution that can be connected to better overall wellbeing in the future.

Support urinary tract health with this tart berry

Full disclosure, the funding for the study came from the Cranberry Institute, a non-profit organization founded in 1951.  Their main goal is to provide aid to the agricultural industry and help those who grow cranberries spread the word about the health benefits of the fruit.  Even so, the health benefits are significant.

For example, the specific type of flavonoids contained in cranberries has been shown to support a healthy urinary tract because they can fight off harmful bacteria as an antimicrobial.  Besides urinary tract benefits, cranberry has been known to help cardiovascular problems and type 2 diabetes and has been promising in cancer research.

Enjoy cranberries year-round to tap into their health benefits

Although fresh cranberries are challenging to find year-round, cranberry supplements are widely available.  You can find them anywhere vitamins are sold.

In conclusion, cranberries can definitely help keep your brain healthy as you age, making them a worthy addition to your diet. So why not make cranberries a part of your life year-round each day instead of reserving them for Thanksgiving as a side dish.

NZ entering Ukraine conflict ‘at the whim of the government’ says former Labour politician, secretary

from the NZ Herald

A former senior Labour Party member says New Zealand has effectively gone to war without consulting the public by joining Nato’s efforts to defeat Russia’s military objectives in Ukraine.

Mike Smith, who served as general-secretary of the party from 2001-2009, told Radio NZ the government was helping to put back a negotiated peace settlement indefinitely by sending Defence Force personnel and resources to Europe as confrontation between Russia and the Western military alliance continues to escalate.

U.S. Senator says Biden is paying contactors $3 million a day to NOT build US–Mexico border wall

You may wonder why the Democrats are overjoyed about sending $40 billion of US Taxpayer money to prolong the conflict in Ukraine but are not interested in stopping the Mexican cartels smuggle drugs and people across the southern border. This is part of the Globalists’ agenda which the Dems are adherents of, as is the Jacinda regime in NZ.

portion-of-border-wall

President Biden is paying federal contractors upwards of $3 million every day, in taxpayers money, to not construct the border wall along the United States-Mexico border according to Senator Joni Ernst (Republican–Iowa).

Since Biden once elected gave the order to cease construction of the Southern border barrier, the federal government began paying contractors over to look after unused border material

In an interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Daily, Ernst outlined a proposal to turn over the unused border wall materials, already paid for by American taxpayers, to states that could then continue constructing the barrier at the border. Her latest legislation is called the Build It Act

Breitbart reports: In January 2021, Biden halted all construction of border wall.

“[My legislation] turns over those unused materials, that were purchased to construct the southern border barrier, to any state that wishes to finish the job. What we have done — we have purchased these materials,” Ernst said.

“Joe Biden canceled the construction of a border wall along the southern border, calling it a waste of money,” she continued. “But since he canceled that contract, the administration has continued paying contractors upwards of $3 million every single day to watch over these unused materials.”

“So why are we paying people to watch over materials that will not be used in this administration, according to him? Why don’t we turn it over then to the state governments who do wish to construct a border wall?” Ernst said.

In April, Breitbart News revealed in exclusive footage the extent to which the Biden administration is spending taxpayer money to leave giant holes in the 30-foot-tall border wall along California’s border with Mexico.

“While those materials are lying out there in the desert, we know that there’s pilferage as well. So we need to protect the materials that have already been purchased by the federal government and allow the states to use them,” Ernst said.

“Instead, we’re wasting much more money every single day. … Think about the year and a half now that has passed since they canceled that project — $3 million a day. It’s just wasted money … for nothing,” she continued.

In 2021, the Biden administration oversaw more than two million border crossings at the southern border — the highest rate of illegal immigration in American history. Similarly, from February 2021 to April 2022, the Biden administration released at least 954,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities.

Ernst noted that the record-breaking illegal immigration under Biden oftentimes outpaces the population of America’s major cities and states.

“Last year, we saw over two million border crossings. … We have ten states in the United States that don’t even have two million people in population,” Ernst said.

for NZ’s Prime Narcissist, ‘disinformation’ seems to mean any evidence and conclusions that don’t fit the government narrative

She was in her element addressing 8,000 Harvard graduates this past week. Although the 25 minute speech would have been mostly written by her department (the teleprompter containing it regularly failed), she had a big input into it.

The contradictions and inconsistencies of, for example, on one hand proclaiming that abortion is a case of “my body, my choice” and then saying it’s not “my body, my choice” when it comes to coercing people to have injected into them a shonky substance, multiple times, particularly when it is demonstrably ineffective in doing what it’s claimed to, just seem to escape her.

She still seems to think that grabbing guns off law-abiding citizens but not criminals and gangs has made people safer. She refuses to admit that nearly all the violence in Freedom Village outside Parliament earlier this year was committed by her Police force on orders from her and Mallard, and not by the protestors. She won’t admit that her Police commanders told lies which were repeated by her bought and paid Mainstream Media.

Like most in her caucus she only believes in Free Speech for her views on the way society should be controlled and not for those who disagree with her. What they have to say is attacked, vilified and censored. She creates racial divisions by emphasizing the importance of bloodlines and consciousness of them.

She can’t see that people are tired of being preached to by a Machiavellian sociopathic liar who is simply there to advance her screwball political ideology — which has seen her Government making rich elites richer and poor people poorer — at any and all cost.

Just go away and let others attempt to heal the damage you’ve caused, Jacinda.
