According to the Council website:

“Join us for some very special storytelling sessions with drag queens Erika and Coco Flash, fresh from the green fields of Taranaki.

“These glamorous and colourful drag queens will be leading interactive games, and reading stories to our tamariki [children] about acceptance, inclusion and having confidence in yourself. Embracing sequins, colours and all things rainbow, expect to have an electric storytelling experience like no other!”

One session is being held at the Waikanae Library on Tuesday 19 October, and there are others in the Otaki, Paraparaumu and Paekakariki libraries.

We’re told this has not been discussed by Councilors so it has clearly been organised by a staffer, most likely the council’s “Group Manager of Wokeism” Janice McDougall, who has fortunately just resigned from the council.

We’ve made clear previously that we don’t give a Stuff about sex themed entertainment for adults, but oppose the sexualization and grooming of children. We suggest sending a letter of complaint to the council CEO, Darren Edwards: darren.edwards@kapiticoast.govt.nz
