neo-Nazi mercenaries are now about half those fighting Joe’s war in Ukraine

Ukraine is fast running out of able-bodied soldiers and is relying on foreign mercenaries — and who pays them? American taxpayers, of course.

From Russell Bentley at sputnikglobe.com:

During its much hyped offensive, the Ukrainian army lost more than 90,000 people, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed in a speech last month. “Sometimes it seems that it is not their people who they throw into battle,” he noted. And indeed they are not, anymore.

Two of my friends in the DPR/RF Army, each in different units, on different Fronts, one still fighting near Artemovsk, the other down around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, both told me that the number of foreign mercenaries and NATO soldiers now fighting in Donbass is much higher than most people are aware, and if it is not currently 50%, it soon will be.

The Ukrainian military is also increasingly relying on political extremists to help fill its depleted ranks. Roman Edwards, a British mercenary in Ukraine publicly acknowledged on X (formerly Twitter) that almost all Ukrainian fighters, that he is serving with, openly profess Nazi views: “I’m aware since I serve here. Literally everyone I serve with uses some sort of “N4zi” symbol: Swastika, SS lightning bolts, Totenkopf, etc. they even have a giant Swastika flag with blue and yellow… it’s not a big deal.”

Toi Mahara is opened

28 Saturday Oct 2023

by Geoffrey and Eva Churchman

Mahara Gallery Trust Board Chairman Gordon Shroff begins the formalities.
The Maori waiata (song) is sung.
The east face inside the quadrangle.
The north face from the Aputa parking lot.
The north and west faces. Patterns in the transperant canopy show on the white walls when it’s sunny as it was today.

This took place today in good weather with an invited audience of local VIPs plus members of the public who showed up the see the gallery and watch the performance artists in the quadrangle. More are performing tomorrow.

There were short speeches by key people about the long period of work by several people aimed at getting the project underway and realised. Indefatigable gallery Director Janet Bayley said the increased display space will enable the Field Collection of works by Frances Hodgkins — arguably NZ’s most important ex-pat artist — to be given proper exhibition as well as enabling better exhibition for other Kapiti artists, or artists with an association with Kapiti. A brochure that was given out gives details of the season for the next 6 months.

We think the name Toi is good (see earlier), although we don’t like the logo which looks too much like an arrangement of pieces of no. 8 fencing wire. But the building looks nice inside and out and significantly enhances the experience of Mahara Place.

For some reason the council didn’t want pictures taken of Koro Don’s blessing or the interior taken today, so we’ll take some more tomorrow.

US: Ramping up the War rhetoric

28 Saturday Oct 2023

from Redacted.com

Keep watch of how the media warms us up to war with the explanation of battle tactics. We saw this during Obama’s many wars in the Middle East with terms like “precision strike” and “arming moderates.”

There is no such thing as precision strikes and by moderates, he meant terrorists but an easier and softer version, as if there is such a thing.

Now we are being sold the concepts of “sponge bombs” and “targeted raids.” This is meant to sell us the idea that there is a way to pick out targets for attacks like the thing you don’t want in a trail mix. There isn’t.

That is why U.S. Army Colonel Amos Fox coined the term “precision paradox.” It is the failed promise of precision strikes – one strike, one kill – generating a creeping wave of destruction.

The wave of destruction in Gaza is not creeping. It is a high-speed swell. Palestinian authorities say that over 6,500 people have been killed this month but President Biden said he had “no confidence” in that number.

The United Nations failed to pass two resolutions to stop the conflict this week.

long range missiles hit Eilat area (Israel), Taba (Egypt)

28 Saturday Oct 2023

The damage in Taba.

On Wednesday, Hamas boasted that it launched a long-range rocket from the Gaza Strip at Israel’s southernmost city of Eilat. The rocket did not set off sirens in Eilat or any other towns in the south, and the IDF later said that the projectile landed in an open area, causing no injuries or damage.

Earlier the terror group also claimed to fire a long-range R160 missile toward the Haifa area, setting off sirens in the northern towns of Daliyat al-Karmel and Kerem Maharal. The IDF said the projectile exploded in mid-air.

Yesterday a missile apparantly launched as part of fighting between Hamas militants and Israel struck the Egyptian resort town of Taba about 220 km (135 miles) from the Gaza Strip early on Friday, Egypt’s Al Qahera News reported. The missile hit a Taba ambulance facility and a residential building for the administration of the Taba Hospital. injuring at least six people.

Taba, in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on the Egyptian side of the border with Eilat, is popular with tourists. It is about a three-hour drive from Egypt’s Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.

But were the missiles actually fired by Hamas? The U.S. military, which is on heightened alert for activity by Iran-backed groups as regional tensions soar, said last week a Navy warship in the northern Red Sea intercepted projectiles launched by Yemen’s Youthi group potentially toward Israel.
