So Christian Zionist nutters are claiming that wholesale indiscriminate mass murder does not equate to genocide. And forcing people out of their land and negotiating a mass exodus to another country is not ethnic cleansing.
And dissent makes you “racist”.
And by the way, From the River to Sea can mean:
1)Freeing the West Bank, on the river Jordan, and Gaza on the sea (a solution Israel rejects), ie a Two State solution.
2) A One State solution (I have Israeli friends who support this, but definitely not on Nutty Yahoos agenda).

Mind you, Greens equating Palestine with NZ hardly helps the Palestine cause.
“From the river to the sea” means kill all the Jews and take over Israel. Look up the Hamas charter sometime – it calls for the destruction of Israel.
Also note that Islam has never had a problem with mass murder as long as muslims are doing the killing.

Muslim terrorists are crazy but they’re not stupid — they will have carefully planned the whole thing for a long time and will have known exactly how the Israeli government would respond. Hamas certainly locate their rocket launchers extensively in apartment blocks, mosques, boys clubs, next to bakeries and hospitals and they put their stashes of weapons and weeks’ worth of water/food supplies in their network of tunnels.
Conflagrating a regional conflict with the involvement of Iran backed organisations will have been their objective. The Netanyahu government in deciding to let the Hamas attack of 7 October happen instead of stopping it isn’t blameless in what we’re seeing.
The situation in Israel/Palestine is too complex to summarise in a few soundbites and it is totally hypocritical of Swarbrick and Company to claim Israel is apartheid when local Apartheid is what they have been pushing in NZ.

Conclusion. Uneducated, self-righteous sufferers of mental delusion. You can’t have peace with someone who is hell bent on eradicating you and your people from the planet.
There are also the gas and oil fields on the Gaza coast. However, the main reason is Lebensraum. The plan for Greater Israel is to expand to the Euphrates.
A good war against Syria would mean Israel taking some territory at least (already has part of the Golan Heights). Russia vetoed a no fly zone over Syria, after realising its mistake with Libya, else Syria would be a mess now.
Israel has bombed the airports of Damascus and Aleppo several times over the last few months, not exactly sure why.
It’s extraordinary that many of the very people who oppose mass immigration into their own countries, love the idea of ethnic cleansing Palestine and millions of refugees flooding into neighbouring countries. As long as we don’t have to take them. (I myself am opposed to the mass movement of people, but also the wars that facilitate it).
