The few who may have needed reminding how bad the One/Newshub/Stuff/Herald/RNZ news cartel is only needed to take in the first 5 minutes of last night’s One 6pm bulletin. First up was how much terrible hardship the reinstating of the $5 nominal prescription charge at pharmacies is going to cause people — er, ah, well, if it’s an ongoing need then 4 x 3 months supply is $20 a year! The awful impost!
If the Leftists lived in England they’d be paying a prescription charge of that much (£9.65) per item. A Prescription Prepayment Certificate costs: £31.25 for 3 months and £111.60 for 12 months.
Next up was their complaint that a Whakatāne primary school sent children home with a letter informing them the school’s bilingual unit, Te Whānau o Awatope, is set to close. Not actually the fault of the government, but the Leftists blame them anyway: “It comes at a time when the use of te reo is coming under scrutiny by the new government.”
Well, it could be worse — what about those who want to learn a language that actually has some practical use elsewhere in the world, like Spanish, French, Chinese etc?
It is patently obvious, as your article points out, that the media is crying in their beer that Labour lost the election, and there is not going to be any more money in the trough!
