That was the impression Geoffrey and I had upon entering the Downtown last year which contains attractions like the World of Coca Cola and the huge Georgia Aquarium. It makes a lot of sense: not only do leafy green trees look nice and add a feeling of serenity, they help absorb summer heat in what would otherwise be concrete jungles — and in this part of America summers are hot and humid.

The Peachtree Center. The peach is a symbol of Georgia.
The Centennial Olympic Park; the Summer Olympics were held in Atlanta in 1996.

A monument to Andrew Carnegie in Harvy Ivy Park, noted for his donations to establish libraries in different countries including 18 in NZ.
