Bede is currently the Chair of the Raumati Community Board and is by far the best regarded of the 5 Community Board chairs.
The council seat has been held by Sophie Handford since 2019. We assume this means she is seeking a seat in Parliament next year as a Labour MP.

He and his little colleague have tried so hard to get 15-minute cities in place by selling out the community. That, and all the managed retreat rubbish from other Judases.
His sophistry cuts no ice with people who know the WEF, WHO and UN agendas and he seems perfectly happy to be the Judas goat.
If Handy Handford gets elected, blech! she can snuggle up to Uncle You-Will-Eat-Ze-Bugs Klaus. It was revealed recently that Klaus has harassed women and doesn’t like brown or black people. I’m sure that would dismay his little pupil given the woke Pollyanna that she is.
We are dismissive of most Leftist policies and beliefs as you know, but at the local level it’s personal qualities that matter most — willingness to listen and heed local concerns of constituents. Leftists are mostly dour doctrinaire types, but Bede and Sophie are exceptions; open and friendly.
